Sirius of the Week for September 16 - 22, 2001
Eltee, a German Shepherd who lives in England, has
been with her family for a relatively short time. Her
humans originally had another pup in mind when they
went to the breeder to see the dogs. However, it was
Eltee that they fell in love with.
Eltee originally ate a biscuit type of complete diet,
but she was switched over to Beta junior complete
biscuit that has all the growing extras she'll need.
Her mom thinks the only addition they will give Eltee
is a couple of cod liver oil tablets per week and
perhaps a teaspoonful of suet a couple of times a week
when the weather cools down. It depends how Eltee puts
weight on. She is of a somewhat slight build, although
her vet says she is not underweight.
Her humans are strict with all her training, and she
is quick to learn. The main problem they've had is her
barking madly at other dogs when they've taken her out over the
fields each day. Her people plan to get Eltee
socialised as quickly as possible and have been
introducing her to other dogs and people.
Eltee loves children (her mom and dad have 3
grandchildren) and all people. She walks nicely
on the leash without pulling.
She loves the hide Beefer chews, but she is teething
quite badly. She seems to be mainly of
a gentle nature; however, like all pups she has her
mad, mischievious moments. Eltee sleeps quite a lot,
and her bed is in the kitchen where she spends the
night. During the day she loves to go into the
downstairs shower to nap.
Her favourite toy is a Squeaky rubber ball, but only
in the garden. In the fields she is too excited
running to chase a ball! Games are a bit limited
yet, but she'll have a "rough and tumble" with you!
Her human's last German Shepherd was called Lady, and
Eltee comes from Lady Two...L.T. Hence Eltee.
