Sirius of the Week for January 2 - 8, 2000.
Spike is a 13 year old AKC registered Welsh Terrier. At his
advanced age he has become a bit curmudgeonly, especially when
dealing with his two younger-bouncier, Jack Russell companions;
although he is still up for a good game of "chase" or
"tricks for treats." Spike's main passion is diving
into the swimming pool to retrieve his rubber rat. He will spend
inordinant amounts of time in this pursuit, and it is probably what
keeps him active.
As with all terriers, Spike is very smart, still learns quickly, but
suffers from a bad case of "selective hearing." He is definitely a
"daddy's dog," but rather surprisingly, he still loves children,
and loves to be in the middle of a group of his person-mom's 4-H kids.
