Sirius of the Week for October 8 - 14, 2000
Simba is 4 and a half, and his family got him when he was 6 weeks old,
and have never been sorry that they did.
His father (a corgi) used to get out of his garden, and went around the
neighbourhood, visiting all the lady dogs. The week Simba was born, so
were 17 other brothers and sisters; his father was a very busy
(and happy) dog. (Although it would have been better if he'd been neutered.
Fortunately Simba was adopted, but too many other puppies are not.)
Simba loves any food that comes off his person-mom's plate.
She used to buy him all the fancy dog foods, but he would never
eat them, so now his main diet consists
of dry pellets, and leftovers.
He loves any stuffed toys, he has over 20 of them now.
Last Christmas, Simba's person-mom's grandmother bought him a squeaky
stuffed animal. The minute he heard the noise, he must have thought
it was alive, and the family was not allowed to go near it any more.
He walked around with it, and it was the only toy not to get munched
to bits. The family had many hours of fun chasing him.
The toy no longer makes a noise, and has gone the same way as all his
others.
Simba does not know that he is a dog, and runs the
house as if it is his.
His favorite thing in the world is having his tummy tickled, he can
lie still for hours, as long as you are willing to tickle. Simba goes
crazy when his person-grandfather comes to visit, because Simba knows
that he is going to be spoilt rotten, and have his tummy tickled for
hours.
