Sirius of the Week for September 10 - 16, 2000
Riley is a little over 6 years old. One of his person-dad's sons, Devean,
got Riley while a junior at Bethany College. After college Devean
and Riley stayed with dad for about a year until Devean found his own
place with some friends. They realized a short time later his place
was not a safe place for Riley (doors left open and people in and
out at all hours). So Riley moved in with dad.
Riley has a large fenced in area and access to the house all the time.
Plus his person's parents live next door which is connected and also
fenced, so Riley has a large safe area to do what he wants.
Unlike most Huskies he doesn't spend all his time trying to escape.
No digging under fences are jumping over them. He has never destroyed
anything, and can be trusted to be alone inside or out.
He loves to ride in the car even if it's only to the store down
the street. He can also travel for hours and really enjoys it.
His dad can take him to most places which includes friends' homes
and gatherings and work. Riley is extremely gentle, especially with
kids and smaller dogs and pups. His dad will take him to parks
occasionally where he can run all out. He really needs to do that.
Riley will eat most anything which includes most fuits and vegtables.
His dad has to mix his Nutrimax with other things, (Bacon
fat/leftvoers). Riley won't eat just dry food. His person is sure
that's because he would give Riley some of whatever he would have,
and Riley is used to the treat.
