Sirius of the Week for August 6 - 12, 2000
Atuk is an Alaskan Malamute who is nearly 2 years old. He was born in
Manhattan, Kansas -- one of 11 puppies. Atuk now lives with his human
family -- mom, dad, and sister.
Atuk considers himself a "high school dropout". He attended puppy
school for 8 weeks and loved it. But, because of his size, he had
to go to the adult class next and he didn't like it at all. He was
still a puppy and wanted to socialize and play games, but that wasn't
allowed in the adult class, which just wasn't any good for a puppy.
One of Atuk's favorite things to do is go for long walks on cold days.
He also loves to play in the park where he is allowed to dig and
jump in the pond with the ducks. Sometimes he gets to play with
other dogs, which he really enjoys, too. He has some other
Alaskan Malamute friends he gets to hang out with and visit from
time-to-time.
Atuk has a number of treats he likes to eat, including Indian food
(especially the breads and rices), bananas (sometimes with the peel!)
and mangos.
