Sirius of the Week for June 11 - 17, 2006
This week our star is Sweetpea. She is two year old Labrador
Retriever, who is very small for her age. She and her sister puppy,
Lilly (whom we'll meet another week), were the runts of the litter.
In a sense, they weren't meant to live, because they were pushed out
of the litter -- although their people pushed them both back in,
and they're both here today. Unfortunately, they have medical
problems, but they do well and live happily on a farm in Pennsylvania.
Sweetpea gets scared easily. And she tends to think
she's going to get in trouble, even when she hasn't done anything. So
she often looks like she's a sad little dog, like in the next picture.
But she's very sweet with people who are good with dogs -- living up
to her name "Sweetpea."
