Sirius of the Week for August 14 - 20, 2005
This week our Sirius is Taz, and his person-mom writes,
"Taz is a 6 year old boy that I rescued some two years ago from
Owlerton Greyhound track, Sheffield. He retired for racing 6 months
before that through a ligament injury in his hind leg. But he raced
many races and won many too. His racing name was "Itsmee!" And it
was "Itsmee!" that choose me when I went to look at him in the
kennels. I had a pick from 3 dogs, but Taz was the one that I just
had to have -- he was like a lap dog with me and wouldn't leave my
side. We have a very special bond, and I have never had this with a
dog before. I have been helping Greyhounds for 23 years, but Taz is
my boy.
"He loves going for walks and mad runs on the fields, and he always
comes back when called -- he is so obedient. His favorite pasttime has
to be ummm!!! eating!, sleeping, and getting lots of cuddles.
He likes a good brush, too, as it helps reach those parts of his back
that he can't reach. He makes such a grimacing face when you do
this to him, bless him!! His fave treat has to be chocolate bonio's
(just a little)
and Smacko's beef flavour. He is such a sweet dog and everybody
wants to stroke him when we are out walking. His big brown eyes
always tell us a story of our gentle boy Taz."
