Sirius of the Week for July 24 - 30, 2005
Our submitter writes from the UK,
"This is our 5 year old Greyhound Lad (photographed with our darling
son). We rescued Lad from our local Greyhound Kennel back in May this
year. Smart Town Lad, as he was known in his racing days, has 135
races under his collar; he started racing in April 2002 and retired
in June 2004. He had quite a successful racing career of which he
won 32 of his races, and had 23 2nd and 3rd place races each. Lad is
a lively boy with lots of character and gives plenty of love;
he enjoys a good run when the opportunity presents itself.
Unfortunately he doesn't get off his leash too often as he likes to
chase rabbits, squirrels and cats. At home he spends a lot of his
time relaxing, and when the weather is warm he picks the best spot
in the garden to soak up the sun."
