Sirius of the Week for Sep. 26 - Oct. 2, 2004
This week our star is Billy, and his person writes,
"Billy joined our family 5 1/2 months ago. I started volunteering
at the shelter we adopted Oscar at as the shelter I used to volunteer
at closed due to lack of funds. On my first day I came across Billy.
He was a stray, as Oscar [our star from 2 weeks ago] also was. He
was huddled up in a corner, with the saddest look on his
face. With some talking, and patience, I got him out of his cage,
and part way down the hall to the yard, until he heard someone, and
started shaking, wet himself, and ran back to his cage. A few days
later I convinced my Dad to come and meet him, and it was love at
first sight. Since we took him home, the change is unbelievable. He
is still timid at times, but the most playful, loveable, and
destructive dog you could ever meet (he is getting better with the
destructive behaviour, but we are still working on it). He loves to
cuddle, and in the night, I will wake up to him pawing at me, and
nuzzeling my blanket, until I lift them up, so he can crawl
underneath, and snuggle up close. Another Tayles dog, who is the
sweetest, and funniest dog you could ever meet."
