Sirius of the Week for June 13 - 19, 2004
Our submitter writes,
"I found your site the day after my dog lost his battle with
heartworms, liver and kidney failure. I just wanted to leave a
picture of my best friend where others could see him, and share a
little about him. His name was Teddy (goofy) Bear born on May 15,
2000 and parted this world May 21, 2004. Goofy was the most loving,
loving canine I have ever had; he never met a stranger, and brought
a better quality of life to everyone that ever met him.
He LOVED children, never a bark, growl or nip at anyone, especially
children. He would attend Easter egg hunts, football, and baseball
games on a regular basis. The cheerleaders made him a regular on
the sidelines, but had to hold his mouth during the singing of the
National Anthem or he would help sing it.
This little fellow made me feel like I was the most important person
in the world, Every day he would meet me at the door, tail wagging
and a bark to say welcome home. I really miss my best friend.
"PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE have your dog checked and treated for
heartworms. Find out about them before it's too late for your pet...
www.google.com is where I found a host of information that could
have saved my buddy if I had known what to look for before it was
too late. Please Learn about the threat to you pet before it's
too late."
[Editor: your veterinarian can have your dog tested for heartworms.
If you have not done so, and your dog is not on heartworm medication,
please make an appointment today to have your dog checked.]
