Sirius of the Week for Dec. 28, 2003 - Jan 4, 2004
This week we honor the memory of a very brave dog, Sheba. Sheba
was born in 1991 and lived for 10.5 years. The last 2.5 years,
she suffered from a spinal cord disease called degenerative
myelopathy, which caused her to first lose the use of her back
legs, then finally the front legs as well. Sheba lived a happy life
despite her handicap, thanks to the love and care of her person-
mom and dad -- and her dog cart, which allowed her to get around.
During this time, Sheba still enjoyed playing with her mom and dad
and with her canine siblings.
Sheba was a dog of great spirit, and a wonderful inspiration.
